Must See: Artland: An Installation by Do Ho Suh and Children

We're big fans of the Brooklyn Museum and I'm doubling up this month (though you can see both this and Giants in one visit!). So colorful and cool, it's hard to imagine a kid (or adult) who wouldn't be inspired by this fantastical sculpture installation by Korean artist Do Ho Suh and his two young daughters.

The dreamy - nearly confectionary - ecosystem has been growing and evolving  resulting in an ever-changing series of islands 'inhabited by characters and landscapes sculpted from colorful clay'. This began in Suh's own studio in 2016, moved to Seoul where local children added to it, and now it's here inviting New York kids (and adults) to do the same. It will be on view until May 5, 2024.

Artland is the inaugural installation for the Brooklyn Museum's renovated Toby Devan Lewis Education Center. The center was named in honor of philanthropist, collector, and curator Toby Devan Lewis and her contributions to the art world. The space is 9,500 square feet, and will support the robust line up of educational activities for all ages. The space features a 1,300 square foot gallery for rotating exhibitions, including those with family-friendly interactive elements like Do Ho Suh's Artland.
