Weekend Pick: Xanadu Roller Arts

Get the Fall rolling at Xanadu Roller Arts. Located in the heart of Bushwick, Xanadu isn’t your average skating rink. Stepping inside, you’ll find a unique mix of retro 70s/80s disco vibes and contemporary Brooklyn style, making it a hit with both kids and parents alike. The vibrant neon signs and street art-style murals, crafted by NYC artists, create a fun and visually stimulating environment that appeals to all ages.

Xanadu offers something for everyone. The rink regularly hosts local DJs and live performances, creating the perfect setting for parents to relive their roller disco days while kids can experience the thrill of skating for the first time. Skate rentals are available in youth, junior, and adult sizes.

Xanadu’s founders recognize the rise and fall of numerous historic roller rinks, such as the sensational rink/club, The Roxy in Chelsea, Empire Roller Skating Rink in Crown Heights, and RollerJam USA in Staten Island. This new space aims to sustain the lively and inclusive culture of New York roller skating.

Skating lessons for beginners are available, making it an excellent spot for young skaters to learn the ropes. Stop by on Saturdays and Sundays for daytime skating starting at noon, or Wednesday-Friday after 6 p.m.
