Hudson 3-in-1 Convertible Crib
Forbes Vetted and Good Housekeeping both named it the Best Convertible Crib, and for us at Babesta, it’s definitely a MVP. The Hudson 3-in-1 Convertible Crib by Babyletto earns that recognition not through novelty but through getting the fundamentals exactly right: a clean open silhouette, rounded spindles, signature turned-out feet, and hidden hardware that keeps the exterior seamless. It is the crib that works in virtually any nursery aesthetic — modern, minimal, transitional, Scandinavian — because its design is confident without being demanding.
The toddler bed conversion kit is included in the box. Four adjustable mattress height positions carry you from newborn reach at the top through the full standing-in-the-crib phase. Suitable from newborn through approximately age four. Built from 100% solid New Zealand pine wood — FSC® certified, 100% sustainably sourced — with a lead and phthalate safe finish and GREENGUARD Gold certification throughout.
Every stained-finish Hudson is one-of-a-kind due to natural wood grain variation. The Hudson collection includes matching dressers and décor for a fully coordinated nursery.

Best Convertible Crib — Forbes Vetted and Good Housekeeping |
Best For / Not Ideal For
Best For
• First-time parents who want the proven, best-in-class choice: Forbes Vetted and Good Housekeeping both named the Hudson the Best Convertible Crib — the editorial consensus around this crib is unusually strong
• Nurseries with any aesthetic direction: the Hudson's open silhouette and clean lines work in modern, minimal, Scandinavian, transitional, and traditional rooms alike — it is the most versatile crib Babyletto makes
• Families who want the toddler conversion included from day one: the kit is in the box, covering the full crib-to-toddler-bed-to-daybed arc without additional purchase
• Parents who want 100% solid wood throughout — not MDF, not engineered wood panels, 100% FSC® certified New Zealand pine from frame to spindles
• Those building out the Hudson collection: matching dressers and décor are available for a fully coordinated nursery
• Parents prioritizing indoor air quality: GREENGUARD Gold certified, FSC® certified, lead and phthalate safe — all the major certifications present
Not Ideal For
• Families who need a full-size bed conversion: the Hudson converts to toddler bed and daybed but not to a full-size bed — if extended convertibility is the priority, the Gelato 4-in-1 is worth comparing
• Those seeking a design statement with distinctive material elements: the Hudson's strength is its versatility and restraint — parents looking for bold architectural detail, cane paneling, or tambour texture should explore the Moab or Bondi collections
• Very compact rooms: at 53.75"L × 29.75"W, confirm the footprint works before purchasing

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the Hudson considered the best-selling and best-in-class convertible crib?
The Hudson's longevity as a bestseller comes from a combination of factors that most cribs don't achieve simultaneously: a design that works in any nursery aesthetic, 100% solid New Zealand pine wood construction, the toddler conversion kit included, GREENGUARD Gold certification, and a track record long enough for Forbes Vetted and Good Housekeeping to independently name it the Best Convertible Crib. It is the crib with no notable weaknesses — which is exactly what parents who have done the research tend to land on.
What does 3-in-1 mean, and is the conversion kit included?
The Hudson converts through three configurations: standard crib, toddler bed, and daybed. The toddler bed conversion kit is included in the box — no additional purchase required for any of the three stages.
What mattress does it take?
Standard crib size: 52" × 27.75". Babyletto recommends the Pure by Babyletto hypoallergenic and eco-conscious crib mattress line. Ask us what we currently carry.
How many mattress positions are there?
Four adjustable positions. Start at the highest for a newborn — the low-profile design makes it easy to place and lift a sleeping baby without strain. Lower the mattress as your baby learns to sit, pull up, and stand to keep the rail height safe at each stage.
Does it convert to a full-size bed?
No. The Hudson is a 3-in-1 and converts to a toddler bed and daybed, but not to a full-size bed. It is suitable from newborn through approximately age four. If full-size bed conversion is a priority, the Gelato 4-in-1 Convertible Crib is worth comparing — ask us to help you decide.
What makes this different from the Bondi or Moab cribs?
The Hudson is the versatile, design-neutral option. Its open spindle silhouette and turned-out feet work in any nursery aesthetic without dictating it. The Moab has a bolder, postmodern design statement — arched panels, tambour detailing, two-toned finish. The Bondi Cane has woven plant-based cane and a boho warmth. If a parent wants a crib that disappears beautifully into any room, the Hudson is the answer. If they want the crib to be the room's design statement, one of the others is likely a better fit. Ask us — it's a common question and one we're happy to work through.
Why does my stained-finish Hudson look slightly different from the one pictured?
Natural wood grain variation in the New Zealand pine means every Hudson with a stained finish is genuinely one-of-a-kind. The tones and grain patterns are individual to your piece — this is intentional and a feature of the design, not a defect.
Is it GREENGUARD Gold certified?
Yes. Tested for over 10,000 chemical emissions and VOCs. For a crib a baby sleeps in from birth, that certification is one of the most meaningful indicators of material safety available.
Can I see it in person at Babesta?
Floor inventory changes frequently. Contact our Tribeca store at 56 Warren Street for the most current information on what's on display.
Why Babesta Carries It
We carry a lot of cribs with strong design points of view by Babyletto, including the Moab, the Bondi, the Pogo. The Hudson is different. It does not ask you to commit to an aesthetic. Its open silhouette and clean proportions work in any room, which makes it the right answer for a large share of the parents we talk to who are not sure yet how their nursery will come together.
The Forbes Vetted and Good Housekeeping endorsements tell the full story: this is the crib that holds up under editorial scrutiny because it executes every fundamental correctly. Solid wood throughout, toddler conversion included, GREENGUARD Gold certified, four mattress positions, FSC® certified New Zealand pine. There is nothing to work around or apologize for.
It is also Babyletto's bestselling crib for a reason: it’s safe, flexible and aesthetically reliable.

A Note about Lead Times
Some furniture is handmade just for you by expert craftsmen. That being said -- good
things take time. Typical lead times are about 8-12 weeks from most workshops,
and white glove delivery can add between 2 weeks to the lead time, depending on
the distance the pieces are traveling. Lead times are estimates only. We quote
lead times to the best of our ability, but a number of unforeseen issues can
delay orders. Lead times are not guaranteed. Shipping times are not included in
estimated standard lead times.

Receiving & Inspecting Your White Glove or Curbside/Threshold Delivery
On the day you receive your furniture, it is important to remember to take the
time to inspect your delivery carefully. You are responsible for properly describing any and all damages on the shipper's waybill or delivery receipt. If
you don't note the damage, it gives us very limited recourse to assist you afterwards.
Our shippers go to great lengths to avoid damage, but it's possible it can occur. Please review the following guidelines to inspect your furniture while
the shipper is present:
-Whether your order has been specified for white glove delivery or curbside delivery, it is important to open all packaging and inspect every piece before signing the waybill/delivery receipt and the delivery team leaves your home.
-If your furniture has been boxed, inspect the boxes for damage. If the boxes show
any evidence of damage or heavy wear, note this on all copies of the shipper’s
waybill/delivery receipt. A damaged box could be a sign of hidden damage.
-If the delivery driver refuses to wait while you inspect the furniture, note on the waybill/delivery receipt, “driver refused to wait for inspection of
contents. Final inspection for damage will be made when packages are opened.”
-Document any issues or damage (no matter how minor) in detail on the shipper’s waybill
and ask the delivery driver to co-sign the waybill/receipt.
-Minor damage like a scratch or even replacement of a door or drawer, is best handled
through repairs which can easily be done at your home or performed by furniture
medics on behalf of the shipper.
-If the damage is substantial, refuse the item and have the shipper return it to the sender for repair or replacement
-If your shipment is missing any pieces call us immediately at 646 290 5508 and have the driver note the shortage on the waybill. Advise us of any missing
pieces and we will trace the shipment. If the missing items cannot be located within a reasonable time, the missing items will be re-ordered.
-If your shipment is missing any hardware call us immediately and have the driver note the missing hardware on the waybill. Hardware can be sent directly to your home.
***Not sure what to do?***
-If you need assistance with damage at the time of delivery, call us at 646 290 508.
-Email us digital photos of any damage so that we can best determine how to resolve
for you. Email photos to support@babesta.com
-If you do not inspect your furniture on arrival and do not note any damage on the
delivery receipt/waybill, we do not have recourse to assist you with repair or replacement. Please take the time to document any issues.
-If you sign the delivery slip without any written comments you are indicating that your delivery arrived in perfect condition
