Palma 3 Drawer Dresser
by Babyletto · Babesta Pick — Best Mid-Century Modern Dresser for NYC Nurseries
The Palma 3-Drawer Dresser by Babyletto is a mid-century modern nursery dresser that earns its place in a small NYC room by doing exactly what city parents need: compact footprint, deep drawers, smooth operation, and a design that doesn’t look like baby furniture. At 33.5 inches wide it fits where larger dressers can’t, and the three spacious drawers each extend 10.5 inches — deeper than they look from the front and genuinely useful for organising everything from newborn onesies to toddler layers.
It also converts to a changing table with the addition of the Universal Changing Tray (sold separately), which means it can serve the nursery through the diaper years and then transition seamlessly into a kids’ room, a living room, or a study as your child grows. The mid-century silhouette works across rooms and ages in a way that strictly nursery-specific furniture rarely does. Pair it with the Palma 4-in-1 Crib for a cohesive nursery that holds up design-wise from day one through the toddler years.
It arrives with the ball-bearing glides pre-installed — which matters more than it sounds when you’re pulling a drawer open at 3am trying not to wake a sleeping baby. GREENGUARD Gold and FSC® Certified, it meets the indoor air quality and sustainability standards that matter most in a room where your baby spends most of their time.

Best For/Not For
Best For
• NYC nurseries where square footage is at a premium — at 33.5 inches wide it fits in rooms where a larger dresser won’t
• Parents who want a dresser that transitions out of the nursery into a kids’ room, living room, or study without looking out of place
• Families who want a changing table setup without a dedicated changing dresser — add the Universal Changing Tray (sold separately) and this does both
• Design-forward nurseries where the furniture is part of the aesthetic, not just functional backdrop
• Parents building the Palma collection — pairs directly with the Palma 4-in-1 Crib for a cohesive nursery
• Light-sleeping households — the pre-installed ball-bearing glides open and close quietly
Not Ideal For
• Families who need maximum drawer count — this is a 3-drawer piece; if you need more storage, consider a 6-drawer option
• Rooms where a wider dresser is needed — at 33.5 inches this is compact by design
• Parents who want a built-in changing topper — the Universal Changing Tray is sold separately and needs to be purchased additionally

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it come with a changing topper?
No — the Universal Changing Tray is sold separately. It converts the top of the dresser into a changing station and is available at Babesta. A separate changing pad is also recommended and available at Babesta.
What is the weight limit for the changing table configuration?
50 lbs when used with the Universal Changing Tray (sold separately). This covers the full diaper-changing years comfortably.
What size is it?
Assembled dimensions are 33.5″L × 19″W × 35″H. It’s a compact footprint designed for smaller nurseries — measure your space before ordering.
How deep are the drawers?
Each drawer extends 10.5 inches, which is deeper than it looks from the front and provides genuine storage capacity for everything from newborn clothing to toddler layers.
How much assembly is required?
Minimal. The ball-bearing glides come pre-installed. You attach the drawer knobs and feet and it’s ready. The anti-tip kit should also be installed for safety — hardware and instructions are included.
What other Palma pieces does it pair with?
The Palma 4-in-1 Crib is available at Babesta and pairs directly with this dresser for a cohesive mid-century modern nursery.
Is it GREENGUARD Gold certified?
Yes — tested for over 10,000 chemical emissions and VOCs. This is one of the most rigorous indoor air quality certifications available and is particularly important for a room where a baby sleeps.
Is it FSC Certified?
Yes — FSC® Certified, confirming the wood is sourced from responsibly managed forests. The base is constructed with sustainably sourced New Zealand pine wood.
Will the wood grain vary?
Yes — due to the natural beauty of wood grain, each piece with a stained finish is unique. Natural variations in color and grain are a characteristic of the material, not a defect.
Can I see it in person at Babesta?
What’s on the floor changes frequently. For the most up-to-date information on what’s currently in the showroom, contact us at 56 Warren Street, Tribeca.
Why Babesta Carries It
We carry the Palma 3-Drawer Dresser because it solves a specific NYC problem: most nursery dressers are either too wide for a small room or too utilitarian to survive outside the nursery. The Palma is neither. The mid-century silhouette is clean enough to live in a living room or a study after the nursery phase, and the compact footprint fits in rooms where a standard dresser simply won’t. That longevity matters in a city where space is the most expensive thing in the apartment.
The practical details hold up under scrutiny too. Pre-installed ball-bearing glides, 10.5-inch drawer extension, GREENGUARD Gold and FSC® Certified materials, and a non-toxic finish that exceeds ASTM and CPSC standards — this is a dresser built for a room where a child sleeps, by a brand that takes that responsibility seriously.

A Note about Lead Times
Some furniture is handmade just for you by expert craftsmen. That being said -- good
things take time. Typical lead times are about 8-12 weeks from most workshops,
and white glove delivery can add between 2 weeks to the lead time, depending on
the distance the pieces are traveling. Lead times are estimates only. We quote
lead times to the best of our ability, but a number of unforeseen issues can
delay orders. Lead times are not guaranteed. Shipping times are not included in
estimated standard lead times.

Receiving & Inspecting Your White Glove or Curbside/Threshold Delivery
On the day you receive your furniture, it is important to remember to take the
time to inspect your delivery carefully. You are responsible for properly describing any and all damages on the shipper's waybill or delivery receipt. If
you don't note the damage, it gives us very limited recourse to assist you afterwards.
Our shippers go to great lengths to avoid damage, but it's possible it can occur. Please review the following guidelines to inspect your furniture while
the shipper is present:
-Whether your order has been specified for white glove delivery or curbside delivery, it is important to open all packaging and inspect every piece before signing the waybill/delivery receipt and the delivery team leaves your home.
-If your furniture has been boxed, inspect the boxes for damage. If the boxes show
any evidence of damage or heavy wear, note this on all copies of the shipper’s
waybill/delivery receipt. A damaged box could be a sign of hidden damage.
-If the delivery driver refuses to wait while you inspect the furniture, note on the waybill/delivery receipt, “driver refused to wait for inspection of
contents. Final inspection for damage will be made when packages are opened.”
-Document any issues or damage (no matter how minor) in detail on the shipper’s waybill
and ask the delivery driver to co-sign the waybill/receipt.
-Minor damage like a scratch or even replacement of a door or drawer, is best handled
through repairs which can easily be done at your home or performed by furniture
medics on behalf of the shipper.
-If the damage is substantial, refuse the item and have the shipper return it to the sender for repair or replacement
-If your shipment is missing any pieces call us immediately at 646 290 5508 and have the driver note the shortage on the waybill. Advise us of any missing
pieces and we will trace the shipment. If the missing items cannot be located within a reasonable time, the missing items will be re-ordered.
-If your shipment is missing any hardware call us immediately and have the driver note the missing hardware on the waybill. Hardware can be sent directly to your home.
***Not sure what to do?***
-If you need assistance with damage at the time of delivery, call us at 646 290 508.
-Email us digital photos of any damage so that we can best determine how to resolve
for you. Email photos to support@babesta.com
-If you do not inspect your furniture on arrival and do not note any damage on the
delivery receipt/waybill, we do not have recourse to assist you with repair or replacement. Please take the time to document any issues.
-If you sign the delivery slip without any written comments you are indicating that your delivery arrived in perfect condition
